After being closed for over a year, the Black Tiles in Martlesham has reopened its doors, refurbished and re-energised under new ownership. The well-known venue has been brought back to life by a local couple who also run Kesgrave Kitchen, an established CRS epos customer. With a clear vision for exceptional service and operational efficiency, they once again turned to CRS to supply the technology behind the scenes.

The Challenge

Taking over a venue that had sat empty required careful planning, from recruitment to renovations and reliable tech infrastructure. With high expectations from returning locals, the owners needed an EPoS system that could support a seamless relaunch, manage multiple service areas, and scale as the business grows.

To support both bar and restaurant operations, we installed a tailored setup that includes:

• 4 x Uniwell HX-7500 touchscreen terminals

  Fast, intuitive, and built for high-volume hospitality environments.

• 2 x Virtual iPad terminals

  Used for table ordering, enabling staff to take orders directly from the floor, reduce wait times, and improve overall service flow.

This hybrid setup gives the team flexibility across lunch, dinner, and drinks service, while maintaining consistency and speed in both front-of-house and kitchen communication.

The new Black Tiles setup went live over the weekend, delivering a smooth and successful launch. Thanks to their familiarity with CRS systems at Kesgrave Kitchen, the owners and their team were able to hit the ground running, ensuring a high level of service from day one.
